Abstract: Objective To estimate the effects of tuberculosis control project in the past 5 years in Yinzhou county, Zhejiang Province. Methods The information of tuberculosis patients was collected according to the program of Ministry of Health. Results 687 infectious patients were diagnosed in the past 5 years. 97% smear-positive of tubercle bacillus patients became negative after 2 months therapy. By the cohort analysis, 97.5% smear-positive patients were cured. The infective periods were significantly shortened by the project. Conclusion Remarkable outcomes have been achieved by 5 years’ practice of the program of Ministry of Health. The goal of high discovery and curing rates has been gained. The tuberculosis control project accords with the rule of low expense and high effect, and enhances the human health.
