A rapid immunochromatographic assay for the diagnosisof patients suspected of pulmonary tuberculosis

Abstract: Objective To assess the clinical value of a rapid immunochromatographic assay based on 38 KDa and other four antigens from Mycobacterium tuberculosis for the diagnosis of patients suspected of pulmonary tuberculosis.Mehod All subjects received sputum smear,culture,serum ICT TB,and chest film examination.Result The total sensitivity of ICT TB test was 45%,specificity 100%.Conclusion This test cannot replace sputum smear,but the sensitivity of the two methods can attain to 63 6% when they are combined.
