Evaluation of quality control system for direct smear microscopy in National Tuberculosis Program in China

Abstract

Abstract: Quality Control(QC)of direct smear microscopy for acid-fast bacilli plays a great role in National Tuberculosis Program.Since 1994,the quality control system was established by National TB Control Center,and the work was further developed within five years.Until 1999,QC system covered 1 337 counties of 31 provinces,that is more widely than 98 counties of 20 provinces in 1994.The accordance rate of all the quality indexes continually high.The author analyzed the problems existed in QC and raised the resolve methods.
