Clinical analysis of 35 senile cases of tuberculous meningitis with hydrocephalus

Abstract: Objective To study on the relationship between clinical and imaging feature in senile sases of tuberculous meningitis with moderate and severe hydrosephalus.Methods Retrospectively analysed 35 senile cases of tuberculous meningitis with hydrocephalus diagnoed by computed tomography(CT) and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Results 82 9% cases with obstructive of aquaeductus cerebri,20% cases with cerebral base cistern adhesion.Increase of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)protein quantity,Albumin and IgG were relative to hydrocephalus.Conclusion Cerebral membrance fibrin penetration,adhesion and senile stenosis of ventricles of the brain result to hydrocephalus.CT imaging and CSF protein markers were of important value for earlier diagnosis and prognosis.
