The cross-resistance to levofloxacin and moxifloxacin in Mycobacteriu tuberculosis and gene mutations in gyrA and gyrB

Abstract: Objective To study the cross resistance to levofloxacin(LVF) and moxifloxcin(MXF) in M.tuberculosis(MTB),and to analyze the relationship between gyrA and gyrB gene mutations and the drug resistance level of fluoroquinolones(FQs).Methods The MICs of LVF and MXF in MTB clinical isolates were determined on Lwenstein-Jensen media.The sequences of the gyrA and gyrB genes were determined by PCR-sequencing.Results The MICs of MXF were 2 to 4 times lower than that of LVF.MXF activity against MTB was 2-4 times high...
