Abstract: bjective To analyse the antituberculosis_drug resistance and chemotherapy of sputum culture_positive in 122 cases with recurrent pulmonary tuberculosis(RPT).Methods Drug_susceptibility tests was done in sputum culture_positive cases with RPT between 1995 and 1997.HREZ/HRE was used as therapeutic scheme.Sputum examination for tubercle bacillus was performed three times at least. Results The sputum negative conversion rates at the end of the chemotherapy in the drug_susceptible group(91 cases)and the drug_resistant group(31 cases)were 85.7% and 67.7%,respectively.Conclusions If the drug_resistance,particularly for multidrug_resistant,occurred in recurrent cases during retreatment, the therapeutic efficacy is less satisfactory than that in the drug_susceptible cases. It is important to control the infectious source of new treated cases actively and reduce occurrence of drug_resistant cases for tuberculosis control project.
