Abstract: Objective A strain of Mycobacterium marinum was isolated from the skin lesions of swimming pool granuloma. Methods The skin specimen was decontaminated with 2% NaOH,and inoculated to 4 acidity Lowenstien-Jenson cultures. Two cultures were incubated at 28℃,and the other two were at 37℃.The drug sensitivity of the strain were determined by absolute concentration method. The examinations of identification for the strain were performed by routine method described in Bergey’s manual. Results The growth of the strain was markedly better at 28℃ than was at 37℃.The strain was resistance to INH and SM,but was sensitive to RFP and EM.The strain characterized by production of yellow pigment after illumination and by thermostable catalase reaction. The reaction of reduction of nitrate was negative. Conclusion The strain isolated from skin tissue was identified to be M.marinum.
