Abstract: Objective To study the model of detection of pulmonary tuberculosis cases in Shenzhen city .Methods TB dispensary cooperated with hospitals through administrative intervention to improve capacity of case detection.Results 92.9% of pulmonary tuberculosis cases registered was through clinical consultation during 1996-2001.71.5% of them were transferred by hospital.The availability rate in TB dispensary of transferred TB suspects from hospital was 97.7% in the city.More than 71.9% of TB suspects made clinical consultation in TB were transferred from hospitals .The rate of smear positive case was 34.9/10 5 and the case holding rate was 67.0% in 2001.Conclusion A higher case holding rate have been achieved through adopting the model of detection for pulmonary tuberculosis in the city.
