Analysis of effect to registration rate and cure rate on TB control project after centralized management of tuberculosis

Abstract: Objective To analyse the effect to improve the registration rate and cure rate on TB cases after centralized management of tuberculosis.Methods To collect and analyse all registration data about case finding and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis cases since the World Bank Tuberculosis Control Project had been carried out in Zhaoqing city of Guangdong province in 1993. Results The smear positive registration rate and new case registration rate of smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis were 17.62/100000 and 7.62/100000 in 1993, and raised to 34.37/100000 and 32.46/100000 in 1999 respectively. The cure rate of newly diagnosed smear positive cases was 95.6%. Conclusion Centralized management of tuberculosis cases in an important procedure to improve the case fiding rate and cure rate.
