Evaluation and observation of serum thd parathyroid hormone in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome

Abstract: Objective To evaluation and observe the levels of serum throid hormone and parathyroid hormone (PTH) of the patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).Methods The levels serum of throid hormone and parathyroid hormone (PTH) in 48 patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) were measured by electrochemiluminescence.Results The Results showed that levels of serum T3,T4,FT3 and TSH in patients with SARS were significantly lower than those in controls,the level of T3 in severe patients was also significantly lower than those in general patients.There were no significant difference in livel of PTH between patients and controls.Conclusion The change of levels serum of throid hormone and TSH in patients with SARS may be an important manifestation on cours of diseases.
